" Wings of Prayer "

Just close your eyes and open your heart
and feel your worries and cares depart,
Just yield yourself to the Father above
and let Him hold you secure in His love.

For life on earth grows more involved
with endless problems that can't be solved.
But God only asks us to do our best,
Then He will "take over" and finish the rest

So when you are tired, discouraged and blue,
there's always one door that is open to you,
and that is the door to "The House of Prayer"
and you'll find God waiting to meet you there.

And "The House of Prayer" is no farther away
than the quiet spot where you kneel and pray.
For the heart is a temple when God is there
as we place ourselves in His loving care.

And He hears every prayer and answers each one
when we pray in His name "Thy will be done",
And the burdens that seemed too heavy to bear
are lifted away on "The Wings of Prayer."

Mother's Love in The Storms Of Life
by: Helen Steiner Rice

A mother's love is like an island in life's ocean vast and wide-
A peaceful, quiet shelter from the restless, rising tide.
A mother's love is like a fortress, and we seek protection there
When the waves of tribulation seem to drown us in despair.

A mother's love is a sanctuary where our souls can find sweet rest
From the struggle and the tension of life's fast and futile quest.
A mother's love is like a tower rising far above the crowd,
And her smile is like the sunshine breaking through a threatening cloud.

A mother's love is like a beacon burning bright with faith and prayer,
And through the changing scenes of life we can find a haven there.

For Mothers play the leading roles In giving birth to little souls,
For though 'small souls' are heaven-sent And we realise they're only lent,
It takes a Mother's loving hands And her gentle heart that understands
To mould and shape this little life And shelter it through storm and strife…
No other love than MOTHER LOVE Could do the things required of
keeping care of His little ones, awake or sleeping.

For a mother's life is fashioned after God's enduring love-
It is endless and unfailing like the love of Him above.
For God knew he couldn't be everywhere,So He put His little children
in a loving mother's care.
Everyone Needs Someone
by: Helen Steiner Rice

People need people and friends need friends,
And we all need love for a full life depends-
Not on vast riches or great acclaim,
Not on success or on worldy fame,
But just in knowing that someone cares,
And holds us close in their thoughts and prayers-

For only the knowledge that we're understood,
Makes everyday living feel wonderfully good,
And we rob ourselves of life's greatest need,
When we "lock up our hearts" and fail to heed,
The outstretched hand reaching to find,
A kindred spirit whose heart and mind,
Are lonely and longing to somehow share,
Our joys and sorrows and to make us aware,
That life's completeness and richness depends,
On the things we share with our loved ones,
and friends.

Character for True Success - Love

For the year of 2010, we will study 4 character qualities a month, and practice them consciously and make them our way of life.

God is Love and this will be the foundation of all the character qualities. All character qualities is an expression of God's character. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" -John 15:13

Success is determined by relationships, and relationships are determined by character.

The Fruit of the Spirit best demonstrates the character qualities:

Love, Joy, Peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance ( Galations 5:22).

God's perfect love is required for true success in our personal life, studies,
marriage, family, finances, jobs and vocation. Vice versa, without God's love, we will not have the character qualities and power to break the bondage of addictions such as anger, lust, lying or stealing.

The most dangerous enemies are the unseen enemies of the soul: -

the pride and arrogance of the head
the greed and self centeredness of the heart
fear of failures and uncertainties of our hands
a lying tongue

God help us to have a pure heart, humble head, useful hands and a loving tongue and  establish Agape Love in our lives - loving others (greater than faith and hope 1st Corinthians 13:3 ) is giving to the needs of others, so that we may glorify God and have our eternal rewards in heaven. It "beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things"- 1st Corinthians 13:7. You can give without loving but you cannot love without giving.

We can start by loving  our family, loving our parents, loving your husband or your wife, and loving your brothers and sisters.

We can ask the Holy Spirit to guide us as we face daily tests at all levels such as:

Fiery trials ( anger or lust)
Infirmities ( sickness and physical limitations)
Reproaches ( scorn ridicule, rejection)
Necessities ( daily pressures and responibilities)
Persecutions( false accusations/ those out to make our life miserable)
Distress ( unexpected grief and sorrow).

We can produce the right responses:
Choose to be grateful - in everythng give thanks
Find reasons to rejoice- joy that comes from the Lord.
Cry out to God and pray for mercy and intervention
Do Good and Be zealous of Good works

God Bless you for reading.
Hi Hi

This blog is created by my pop to help me through the struggles and challenges as a school boy. It will provide an encouraging environment for us to learn about character building- at the end of the day - it is character above all.

1st Chronicles 4:9-10

9 Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, [c] saying, "I gave birth to him in pain." 10 Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain." And God granted his request.

The Lving Bible version:

9 There was a man named Jabez who was more honorable than any of his brothers. His mother named him Jabez[c] because his birth had been so painful. 10 He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and expand my territory! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request.

To my parents, I am grateful and to my friends thank you for your support.

God Bless All who reads them
